LIGHTING : A HOW TO GUIDE!
A Guide to Beauty and Fashion Lighting by Jodi Jones!
140+ pages of information! I created this e-book to fulfill the needs for any fashion photographers out there to be able to understand how a working professional in the fashion industry approaches a shoot, and how they set up the lighting.
Throughout these pages you will find examples of my work and detailed lighting diagrams on where I placed the light, what modifiers I used, and why. I encourage you to use this guide book as a way to think about light and how it relates to mood, tone, emotion, feelings and style. Use it to help you create your own concepts in your preproduction stages of setting up a shoot. Take it with you as an on-set guide to test all of these ideas outlined here for yourself. Refer to it often during your step-by-step process of creating your next beautiful fashion image! Take an idea from the e-book and try it out. Then slightly modify it to see how it affects the final image. Refer to it as often as needed until you feel confident that you have tried all the lighting styles in this book and have found a few combinations and modifications that are your own personal formula, and “signature” look!
It’s here, and it’s really big! Over 140 pages! I’ve included examples of my work showing detailed lighting diagrams on where I placed the light, my camera settings, what lighting modifiers I used, and why.
I cover some really interesting topics for any photographer, whether or not they shoot fashion. Those include:
The 7 essential LIGHTING POSITIONS that I use in my work!
When to you which LIGHTING MODIFIERS! The softbox vs the umbrella, vs the beauty dish!
CREATING EMOTION with LIGHT!
USING LIGHT TO CREATE A MOOD!
I hope to instill confidence in you, and make it much easier and less expensive for you by creating this e-book,
“A GUIDE TO BEAUTY & FASHION LIGHTING!”
At this time in my career, I feel now is the right time for me to give back what I have learned to the aspiring fashion photographer that may be in a similar situation to myself 12 years ago. And with this guide book I have condensed a lot of my personal style and technique into what I think is a very simple guide to follow to get outstanding results.
I will take you though much of my body of work and show you how I created each lighting setup.
Also, for a more multimedia version, this book is available in the ITUNES bookstore for iPad users!!
